Heya

Happy Valentines day... the day were as a man you are expected to get your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend something nice and special. My wife got a hat. dont worry... she wanted the hat so im not a prick, really! my daughter got a ton of stuff, but hey, that is what you do when you have kids, you get less and they get more, but the smile is worth it!

its supposed to be another glorius day in iowa... like 50 degrees and sunny. in february. winter. riiiiight. at least im chained to my desk having a pile of work to do, so i have that going for me.

this past weekend we were in chicago doing the b-day party thing. its always a good time, we eat, drink, and be merry, so you really cant go wrong with that. my niece got some cool stuff and its good to see them. the drive sucks but its worth it.

Another travel weekend

well its Thursday... actually friday for me. I have tomorrow off so we can hit the road for the drive over to the burbs of Chicago for my nieces birthday this weekend. its not a bad drive, only like 4 1/2 hours, which isnt bad going out... coming home is another story.

my brother-in-law's family like to party, so birthdays will always involve a little booze, and typically when we go there i hit it pretty hard. that means that the same 4 1/2 drive out will seem like 17.5 years with a hangover. i know, you say i dont have to get drunk.... which is exactly what my wife says, but that usually just doesnt work out. they have a keg fridge and as most of you know, when drinking beer if it comes from a glass rather than a can it seems to disappear a lot faster, therefore i drink more and invariably end up bombed. its the beers fault, not mine.

so that is my plan for the weekend... see some family, have a party for a 2 year old, and drink, not necessarily in that order.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

First and foremost Happy 3rd birthday to my little girl! Gilli has made it to 3!
I couldnt ask for a kid that is much better... she's sweet, smart and fun. She is the greatest thing to ever happen to me!

I ssume that just about everyone watched the Super Bowl... it turned out as i expected, but i thought that there would be a little more action. Dont get me wrong it was a good game, but not really that exciting. Oh well.. nothing left now except march madness until football starts up again!

I had a good weekend... hung out with the Beaner and his family this weekend. Did a little bowling and drinking... we hit Sherms Place for a little boozing on saturday night. A realy shit hole, let me tell you... white trash to the core, they had a DJ pumping out all of the 80's and 90's dance hits... smokey enough to cause cancer on the spot, and let me tell you...if you like hogging then this was the place... the fatties were plentiful, shaking all that ass on the dance floor, but it was sweet to hang out, drink, and make fun of people like the old days.

Anyway, i should probably do something constructive today so i dont get my ass fired, and so should you!

Weekend

Well we had a little birthday party for my beautifuldaughter this weekend... we had the little girls over for cake and games and then the parents for booze after that... it was fun, she really had a great time.

This week has been a bore and i dont anticipate the rest of it to be any better...
at least this weekend we are heading up north to see Robby and his wife and daughter... hopefully he has something planned out. Its going to be fun... we havent been up there since last summer and i havent seen him for a few months...

For those of you who have never met us, Robb and I share a brain... we have known each other since college and have been best friends for most of it... we were best man at each others weddings and have been through good and bad times together. What else can you say about the guy... he would give his arm for a friend and that is what i love about the guy.

So the Super Bowl is this weekend... i guess i have to root for the steelers since they beat the Broncos... regardless, im just excited to see the game in HD this weekend. Im a dork, i know it. Plus it gives me an excuse to make some chicken wings and eat a bunch of shit that isnt good for me, all the while drinking beer.
