A golfing I went

Last night was golf league... a wonderful night about 95 degrees... at least there was a breeze or it would have been oppressive, but dammit, its golf and im not gonna miss it. One bonus of it being hot is that the beer consumption usually takes it up a notch and last night was no different. The golf was actually good too... ended up with a 42 so im not unhappy with it.

One thing that almost always happens on thursdays is that we end up at this little hole in the wall bar called The Boathouse. Its one of those places where we have been stopping for a couple of years now after golf and Mark the bartender knows us by name and as soon as you hit the door hes pouring our beers. This world needs more places like this. Its great.

This weekend is the big art festival in Des Moines. Supposedly its one of the top 5 in the country and usually its pretty interesting. Theres always a lot of cool shit that i really like but cant afford. We are going down 2 times, tonight and tomorrow. We are taking Gilli down tonight with some friends so she can experience it. They have a great kids tent with art stuff to do, so she should enjoy it. Saturday its a neighbor night out... 4 couples in our neighborhood get together once a month and have a wife swap party... im just fucking with ya... we go out and drink beer and get some dinner... typically we drink too much but have a great time.

Other than that our weekend is nothing special... playing some golf on saturday morning, need to mow the damn lawn, and playing some softball on sunday night.
